he engagement of a.e.r.o.medi B.V. in aerobiology started from a search of a simple staining method to determine the allergic load in house dust: One distinct colour solution - now called redprot® - revealed a striking staining pattern with airborne particles like pollen and spores of moulds.

In 2003 the formulation of this staining solution - first named aroprot® according to the application in aerobiology - reached a final status, regarding dye concentration, ambient conditions and stability of staining and storage: It was now named redprot®, due to its unique properties in staining proteins and the broad spectrum of possible applications .
According to the discovery of redprot® , aerobiology was the first field to evaluate its properties , its use and applications. By kind support of Prof. Mandrioli, Bolognia, Italy, numerous projects in aerobiology were generated in Spain and Italy with different co-operation partners.
At the same time studies on the fundamental properties of redprot® were initiated at Scientific Institutions of the University of Münster, Germany.
